Does everything have to be out of the garage during flooring installation?
Yes, unless items are stored away in cabinets or on wall-mounted shelving and off the floor. The floor must be clear, and our storage systems can help with that.
What is the best option for a pigmented base coat versus a clear top coat?
Polyaspartic/polyurea pigmented base coats and top coats have been used for years, and form the strongest bond possible to your concrete. Polyaspartic/polyurea has a high abrasion and chemical resistance, and provides a UV-stable clear protection for the life of your floor.
Is the floor coating slippery?
We generally do not offer polished concrete flooring or one coat floor coatings without a full broadcast of decorative chips in the base coat because of their slick nature. The full broadcast provides a nice texture for slip resistance well beyond what a flat surface would provide. If this a high concern for you we can add a light abrasive within the top coat for an additional cost.
How do I clean my new floor?
A periodic hose down, bristle brooms, swiffer and/or mops are highly effective. Our coatings are impervious to liquids, so oil and chemicals can be wiped up without staining the floor. Dirt and other debris can be lightly pressure cleaned as needed.
As for cleaning solutions, we recommend using a ph neutral cleaning solution to clean the floor. Do not use solvents such as acetone on the floor. Do not use any chemical degreasers, including "Krud Kutter" as this will permanently damage the floor.
Are the resins used harmful to me or the environment?
No. Unlike cheaper kits, our products have a high solids content, which means fewer solvents and less VOCs are emitted that evaporate into the air.
Does the floor scratch?
The floor is very abrasion resistant. However, the floor can still be scratched by sharp objects dragging on the floor. Care must be taken to lift heavy or sharp items when moving them across the floor.
Does the flooring leave a smell?
No.
Do you offer a warranty for garage flooring?
Our floor coating process carries a lifetime warranty for de-lamination or discoloration under normal use like parking cars and walking traffic.
